Sorry mis-read.

.shs is an extension that can be used to transmit a virus.

Does AVG give any more info?

Can you boot into Safe Mode and scan from there?

Hi Jester2K
AVG says it's here C:\program files\helpcentre\EHC.ZIP:\ehc2\troubles.hoo\images\ep1.bmp.shs

Hmm looks like its a double extension warning - *.bmp.shs

I suspect the problem is the file is in a ZIP file so it can't remove it.

However you are not the only one click here

I don't think this IS malicious - its just AVG warning you that a file has a douyble extension (a trick design to make an executable virus look like a picture file)

Not sure how to fix it though as the file might be needed by something and renamring / removing it might cause a future problem.

found problem it was two pictures in hp deskjet trouble shooting guide which where contained in a helpcentre zip file took a while scanning all individual folders but all clear now thanks for help Jester2K
