I can't find much on it either - at least nothing useful.

Try The Cleaner click here and/or TRojan Remover click here

VoG. Have you heard of the online trojanscan.com? Is it any good? If AVG says its cleaned can I trust it? Does anyone know the settings to block that port in Sygate free version?

Online scan can't do any harm (as long as you have AVG running).

I don't know enough about AVG to comment on whether it can be "trusted".
