Video Projectors Which One to Buy

  Bagsey 18:02 20 Mar 2007

I am interested in buying a video projector to show slide shows and home videos in a club setting. However I know nothing about these and would be pleased to be guided in what to aim for. I am not looking to spend very large sums of my pension so quality and value for money are important. Can anyone help me please

The purchase of a reasonable projector is never going to be cheap!

My key points to look out for...

* The brightest output you can find for your money

* Good colour rendition. Some are really poor

* The cost of replacement bulbs - they are NOT cheap.

* And check hours life quoted for the bulb!

* Sturdy on its feet - wobble is distracting

* Good selection of input sources

* A good demonstration - to check everything

Not too much help I'm afraid, really. I have used many of these items and the quality versus cost varies considerably. So that good demonstration is vital.

Thanks for those comments. Food for thought. I have checked the cost of replacement bulbs as I thought to look at ebay. The cost of bulbs slowed me down cosiderably.Your pointer about a good demo is deffinately now on my list of to do items.Once again thanks.
