video files

When I download a video mpeg it appears in my designated folder as a winamp file. I used to have winamp on my computer but I deleted it as I prefer to use windows media player. Now when I double click the file it won't open as it states I don't have a program for opening winamp files. I have to right click file and "open with". How do I return to my original setting (windows media player)?

When you right-click the file and the 'Open With'
box appears, choose 'mplayer', then tick the 'Always use this program to open this type of file'.
Or in Windows Media Player(I use the old 6.4 version so your version may be slightly different)
go to View/Options/Formats. You can then tick which formats you want to use with the player.

Have opted for 2nd option and selected all. Just need to wait and see what happens with next download. Cheers.
