video file : 3GPP, what is this?

I have a folder of video clips taken, I think, with a digital camera. I tried to open them and WMP wont. Real Player says I need Quicktime. Is this normal? In properties, it says type of file: 3GPP content.

Sounds like they where taken with a mobile phone.
Quicktime will play them.

This may help to play them in WMP or Media Player Classic click here

I downloaded VLC player and it plays the video but there is no sound. So I might try your suggestions and use Media Player Classic.

How then can I make a movie in Windows Movie Maker with these clips, or is it possible at all?

Im going to answer my own question here! it might help someone else. I found this little programme that will convert 3GP to avi or mp4, and its free!
