Video editor for Windows 8 needed

  Brenne 21:53 31 Jul 2014

My Panasonic FZ72 takes good stills and is occasionally used for video clips. Alas, the "Photofun" program supplied has reduced me to screams of frustration in hours of attempts when it comes to doing what I want with these clips. I bought Windows Moviemaker2 for previous XP/Vista PCs, but it won't work on Windows 8, and I need a simple, cheap (because rarely used) editor to cope with AVCHD and MP4 (and other?) format files. I have most old PCadvisor discs (not Disc+)and would welcome advice on choice of program.

Once again, many thanks to Fruit Bat /\0/\ . I've only just found the reply, and haven't yet tried it out, but I knew it would arrive. Brenne.
