information request .

At present my sister as a pentium 3 450hz pc 256 ram 13 gig hardrive windows xp and geforce 4 mx 64meg grafixs . they have some vhs video ( daughter weding etc ) they want to record to dvd on computer . anyone tell me what hardware etc they will ned or where to get advice and what sort of qaulity to expect.

they will need to get a video capture card or a graphics card that supports vivo (video in video out)

quality is ok usually with vcd 352x288 25fps when viewed on a tv screen but a bit blocky on a computer monitor.

svcd is better 480x576 25fps

Thank you for your advice. have yourself or anyone any advice on wether the pc present specification is upto it or what would be a better specification of machine , dont want to re-finance the house to pay for it .........
