Very Slow To Start

I have just upgraded my CPU to an Athlon 3000 It is working at the correct FSB and once the pc starts I am very happy withthe improvment over the old 1900, However from switching on until the password screen comes up is taking over 1 min. it was never this slow befor. Does anyone have any idea.

how much memory are you useing also is your psu powerful enough for the upgrade

You could have bumped your previous thread.

BootVis click here

And/or Start, Run, type in

msconfig

and click OK. On the Startup tab, untick what you do not want to load at startup.

I have 512 mb ddr 333 the PSU is 350w

The list is the same as befor and it was never this slow.

I did this question twice because the frirst one didnt show up when i looked on web site ????

tried BootVis doesnt seen to be working

Got BootVis to down load but has made no diferance at all. Still takes 1 min 10 secs from switching on till pasword screen apperes.

I have 512mb DDR 333 would an upgrade make anyt direrace

Some one told me that a more powerfull PC does take longer to start up, is this true????
