vcr to pc for newbie, please

I want to play back my pre-recorded videos through my pc, what do I need.
system is 1.3 Athlon,Win 98.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

why dont you stick to a tv and vcr that way its alot less exspencive but if you have money to burn try the pinnical web site i thonk thats how its spelt

I connected an old VCR to the PC through a TV card (which you can get for £30 or so)and tuned it in via the TV card software. Works fine.

As with HFC, I use a hauppauge wintv pci and this recieves terrestrial, sattelite and vcr via its aerial input receprion and quality are excellent. The radio is pretty good too.
