vb combo boxes

having a frustrasting time here. i need to put a combo box on a form with a dropdown list of three values: W, L, X. for some reason it will not do it for me. i know i am doing something stupid here

any help?

I think that some more details would help.

And is this VB or VBA?

this is using VB6 and the form is a simple format that requires a drop down list using the above values. these determine the outcome of a final caculation. the rest is fine it is only the combo box at the moment that is causing a problem. in the properties i can't get the values to stay entered in the list
