uTorrent and internet browsers

[Before I ask this question, I want to make clear that I am using torrents for legal purposes i.e. sharing necessary .pwc files for my NWN2 gaming group.]

Whenever I use uTorrent, my internet browsers stop functioning correctly. For example, in Firefox, I can click a link and the page appears to be loading as normal. Then the status bar in the bottom right corner rushes to 100% (WITHOUT loading anything) and it reads 'Done'.

I can keep clicking the link, but it almost always fails to load. Occasionally, it does work -- but this only happens 1 out of 10 attempts.

The same happens if I type a URL in, or even if I use AOL software, or Internet Explorer. When I'm not using uTorrent, everything operates fine in any internet browser.

What's going on?

I don't know the answer, but this forum looks very helpful with uTorrent problems click here
