HelloI am attempting to use my tv (Sony LCD Digital KDL 26S30xx) as a monitor for my Dell Insiron 1300 lap top(basically to show photo's)I am using a HDMI cable but I am getting message on TV'out of range'Any suggestions pleasegel
Does the TV have a VGA Port? If so, that is I believe, the only way you would be able to use the TV as a monitor for your Dell 1300.
Thanks for reply TechnotigerYes it does have a VGA port and I have been connected to the TV using the port designatedOn the L T Desk top I right click and in properties chose the monitor Then on the TV screen I get message 'out of range'gel
when you click properties?
Right-click on Desktop then choose Properties>Settings>Advanced>Monitor and then experiment with changing the Refresh Rate.

Before connecting your lappy to the TV set the resolution to 800 x 600. Connect to the TV and alter your resolution when you can see the picture.G
