Using the "IF" function in M/soft Excel

I need to get excel to look at a cell for either the letter R, E or SBF to give me a value of "Y" if true or "0" if false. I am trying to do it useing the function wizard and entering the arguement in the logical test field,,, please help... thanks in advance

=IF(A4="R","Y",IF(A4="e","Y",IF(A4="sbf","Y",0)))

We had spent a couple of hours at work this afternoon trying to work that one out and got knowhere, as Chris Tarrant would say "it's only easy if you know the answer".
