Using Filter with ADSL.

Can someone please clear up a little confusion for me please. I know that with BB every telephone or other eqipment plugged in to a bt socket has to have a filter attached but does my external usb adsl modem have to have one or is this connected direct to the master socket via whatever cable is required. I have been told both that you do need a filter and that you should not have one. If I should not have one would the result of having one be slow speeds. Thanks, Meshuga.

You can plug the BB modem directly into the socket with a suitable cable, or use a filter if this means you have everything already. Either way will not affect speed.
