Have you just installed an XP update (not a critical one).

Was that an answer to Graham's question or mine?

Posted by Spr, not to be confused with Sdf.

Is it not just a question of going into Control Panel and Users, and changing something. Excuse my vagueness. It is a while since I did it.

Start, run, type,

control userpasswords2

Click ok.

Remove tick from box next to "Users must enter a..."

Click ok.
