Hope someone out there finds one or two of these useful to them.

FE, could you move this to 'Absolute beginners' please?

  EARLR 17:07 11 Oct 2006

When I "click here" I get a warning and I am offered a free scan. I have never trusted these things. So let the user beware.

  ArrGee 18:11 11 Oct 2006

Strange, I didn't get that.

Try this link instead, I have tested it a few times and don't get the scan option/adware.

Oops, forgot to add the link

  brundle 18:16 11 Oct 2006

sounds like you need to scan your machine for spyware click here

  ArrGee 18:28 11 Oct 2006

No, if earlr did go for that option to a 'free scan' then it would have (probably) placed spyware on his machine.

  Totally-braindead 18:39 11 Oct 2006

I don't think that is what brundle is meaning ArrGee, I think he is saying there may be something already on his computer causing this " click here" to appear. It doesn't turn up when I go to it either.
Agree you should never click on these scans for free things because as you say they usually add spyware etc rather than removing anything.

Might be a daft question coming up....

Did you click on the first link I posted or the second?

  ArrGee 20:01 11 Oct 2006

Anyone else coming up with this problem?

  jolorna 20:12 11 Oct 2006

no problems with either link
