usb/midi interface driver not working

Have a yamaha psr290 music keyboard and bought a ux16 usb/midi cable, tryed it and it worked ok 4 a while now it has stopped working, tryed to uninstall the driver incase it was corrupted but cannot find it.So tryed installing it on my sons laptop with original driver and it works just fine, both laptop and main computer run xp, can anyone point me in the right direction to get it up and running on main computer

i had the same problem with my plug and play game controller, it started working after about 3-4 hours, it was strange but i werent complaining.

What version of windows, and are you sure MIDI isn't being routed to play on the internal sound card - load up a midi track.

Uninsatll the USB ports and reinstall.

In device manager - USB - start at the last USB root hub and uninstall and work your way up the list. This will refresh windows list of USB devices plugged into each port.
