USB2 compatibility

  speedbird_zero1 00:05 26 Dec 2005

Hi there i have just got an MP3 player for Christmas,it runs "best" with USB 2. My system is only Win 98SE, would a USB2 plug in card be compatible or do i have to stay with version 1 and transfer data more slowly. I do not yet have a card but dont want to get one if it will not work. Thank you, Mike

A USB 2.0 PCI card with the correct drivers loaded should work just fine.

I Have tried everything to get USB2 working on 98se with a New board SIS chipset. But it's no GO. You may have a chance with a Via as there are USB2 Patches for 98se USB2

I cannot speak for Win 98 but I have installed a USB 2.0 PCI card in a Win 98SE computer without any problems, and yes, it did run at full speed.
