USB Ports Stopped Working

  dazzlet2004 20:43 08 Apr 2006

Hi can anybody please help me or at lease shed some light on a problem i am having with my Laptop. The USB ports USB1 and USB2 on my laptop are working and have power going to them but will not pick up any devices that i plug into them. i plugged a usb memory stick with a light on into the USB2 port and the light on the memory stick came on but the PC would not pick up that there was anything there. In device manager things seem to be fine i have removed the usb ports and allowed them to reinstall again but that still does not let them function properly.

Thanks for any help Dazzle

remove them via device manager.

reboot the computer, xp should find them again.

Have you checked in the BIOS to make sure the USB ports are enabled?.
