usb ethernet help please

I have a laptop and unfortunately my ethernet port in the back of it has broke.

I am considering getting a usb ethernet adaptor instead of shelling out a good bit of money to fix the original port.

My question is will the usb ethernet adaptor be slower than my original built in ethernet port??

i dont really want to lose too much speed.

If your laptop has USB2 ports there'll be no difference in speed.

thanks for your help.

ill purchase a fast ethernet adaptor then, anyway thanks again.

one last thing

the ethernet port in my laptop was a gigabit port
that wont make a difference not being there as it all depends on my internet speed anyway doesnt it?

No, no difference.
