USB 3 does it exsist

  MIKE. 09:27 11 Apr 2009

I heard last year various companys were bringing out a USB3 format 4.7Gb/s. As of yet it does not seem to have hit the streets unless I have been asleep. Does anyome else have info regarding this upgrade. Thanks

The specification has been agreed for some time. See:

Thanks Stuartli it seems to take ages for ideas to come on stream. I will be a little more patient again thanks.

Have I missed them? ----where are all the reasonably priced laptops with usb3?

I'm wondering this as well.

I note that Belkin have released a USB3 PCI card, but only for the US.

Other manufacturers like Buffalo seem to be up to speed and Novatech are selling both USB3 PCI cards and External HDD's.

I'm a bit wary of jumping onboard until the main manufacturers are there.

I would not think of it for a while yet. You have to think of whether your PC is up to it! Can your motherboard handle the high speed? Wait till you get a new PC and specify it then.
