Usb 1.0 or 2.0

If you have usb 1.0 and u buy a usb 2 will it work or will it just work very slowly

It will work at the lower speed of USB1 but not slow, still very fast. j.

want to buy cdrw but is usb 2.0 surly this will create problems as 1.0 is much slower than2.0

There could be many answers to your question as you do not say what you want to do. Or your Operating System. Hear goes if you wanted to fit a USB 2 card in a Win98 Computer you would have to get one with drivers and on the box saying that it was compatible if you fitted one in a XP machine I think you would have to download SP1 for it to work. USB 2 will not make a USB 1 scanner work any faster than it would run on a USB1. You also need USB 2 hardware to get the benefit of a USB 2 socket.

Why not get a USB2 plug-un card - they're very inexpensive, and you will get better performance from your USB2 CD Writer.
