URGENT Laptop keyboard problem.

  wolfie3000 22:38 05 Dec 2006

A friend of mines laptop keyboard has stopped working,

A new usb mouse was fitted and afterwards the laptop keyboard stopped responding,

We have tryed to disable the usb mouse with no effect,

Also the pad on the laptop stops responding also.

We messed about with the drivers with no effect also tryed system restore.

Also uninstalled the mouse drivers.

I have marked this as urgent as we need to fix it tonight if at all possible.

Did you load Drivers for the Mouse? If you did remove them and the software from Add Remove. Will it work in Safe Mode?

  woodchip 23:01 05 Dec 2006

You may need to reload Keyboard Drivers

the keyboard doesnt work at all so putting it into safe mode isnt an option also we did remove the software for the mouse/keyboard and so on with no luck.

If Keyboard does not Work! How did you run Restore?

  wolfie3000 23:28 05 Dec 2006

We ran restore with the mouse when it did work,
But the mouse seems to have died now.

Can you get into the bios via the keyboard?

  woodchip 23:30 05 Dec 2006

My guess is it's the drivers messed up. Will it work with the XP CD and do a Repair

  wolfie3000 23:32 05 Dec 2006

The laptop didnt come with a xp cd only a recovery console on it :(

We cant get into the recovery console as you need to press the f2 button and the keyboard doesnt work.
