upgrading HP PC

I want to upgrade an old HP computer, Have in mind a new motherboard, processor and memory. A new hard drive (160GB) was installed last year and the Op.system is XK home SP3, is it just a matter of replacing the old pieces,or will there be a conflict situation between the existing hard disk and the new motherboard??

There will almost certainly be a conflict, as the OS on the HD will have the old mobo drivers installed, better to take the opportunity to have a fresh install of the OS, and start with a nice clean system.

You will need a new Operating System Disc also as the Restore cd or discs will not work. You are in effect creating a new PC
