Upgrading Duron CPU from 700 to1200 .

I have a problem upgrading my computer by having
faster CPU, I have a socket (A) motherboard GA-7zmm4 and a Duron 700 cpu. I have bought a 1200
secondhand Duron, my problem is that I know how to replace the old cpu with the new one, but after that I 'm stuck. After reading the paper work I got with the motherboard, it seems I have to work out the system bus frequency, and the clock frequency as well, what ever that is, as you can see I need help. I am 78 and not the shartpest tool in the box, so please make any advice simple.

As a first step, just try to fire it up. It may be that the m/b will be able to use some default settings which will be OK for your new processor. If it does run, you can go into control panel>system to check what speed it is running at.

The mobo may set the FSB settings itself when the new CPU is put in and booted,if not i think that the Duron 1200 runs at 100/100 FSB.
