Upgrade suggestions?

  rabbitrabbit 21:54 05 Sep 2007

I'm interested in upgrading my system, I plan to purchase a motherboard bundle :-

AMD X2 4200 AM2, Heatsink and Fan, 2048MB DDR2 667 RAM, Asus AM2 Motherboard

Can anyone suggest a compatible graphics card and power supply?
I do not use my computer for gaming. Merely internet, mp3s, light applications, and the odd football manager game. So the graphics card does not need to be anything spectacular, just able to make good use of my 22" widescreen monitor on 1600 x 1050 res.

Any graphics card will run at that resolution, I don't know much about football manager but I believe its fairly basic graphicswise and if so then a cheap £40 or £50 card would probably be more than adequate.
Personally I wouldn't skimp on the power supply get one of a much higher rating than you need (just in case later on you do add a powerful graphics card or lot of other bits) any make really as long as its a branded one.
Heres some fairly basic graphics cards click here click here though even a lower priced on would probably do you I think and as for power supplies some examples click here click here theres tons of others but a branded one is best.

power supply i would say go for at least 500w as for graphic cards PCI-E is the standard

59 quid will bag you a 7600gt which will cover pretty much what you want and even some modern games all beit at lower settings
