Upgrade Problems

and attached all his old (and working) hardware (HDD gfx card etc) to it and we went to reformat and install Windows on the machine.

This is where the problem starts, the machine boots up fine, we have put the XP (Pro and offical disk) in to the CD drive and it boots from it. But after it has loaded all the files and gets to which location you want to install XP on. At this point the machine turns off compleately without warning.

1. Overheating CPU

2. driver conflict
Does this HDD have a working version of XP on it the drivers for the old board may be conficting with the new board
