Personal preference here, for myself I would go for the full program and not an upgrade. My choice would be W2K, again personal preference.

TRYED IT DIDNT LIKE IT MODEM WOULDNT WORK RAN SLOW

Full prog is always preferable, gives you a clean install.

I had problems with ME and went back to 98SE

The upgrade of any M/S operating system is the same as the full version, except for the price.

The difference with upgrade is that you need a qualifying O/S to start with. You may upgrade over the top of your current O/S, or you can format your drive and start fresh.

To start from fresh, after format insert your new O/S CD and start the install, at some point it will ask you to insert your qualifying disk, do this and it will check, and then ask you to replace your disk and carry on with the install. J.

ME runs smooth for me

I'm with medicine hat, if you can't get ME to run smoothly, then you're not doing it right[as the actress said to the Bishop].

ME supporters club here! Definately go for clean install coz reduces chances of problems.
