Upgrade Mobo CPU and RAM - Advice needed

  ddni 13:25 25 Jun 2007

Hi, currently I have a P4 2.4 Northwood based PC with 1.5gb of DDR SDRAM on an ECS P4S5A/DX+ 4xAGP Motherboard.

I have just been given an AGP Radeon 1950 pro 512mb graphics card! This replaces my Radeon 9600xt.

The new card really shows up my old P4 and Mobo!! ALL newer games and benchmarks are horribly CPU choked.

I need some help in buying a new MOBO (with AGP) CPU and 2GB for £200-£250

Any PC experts out there willing to help??

Many thanks

asrock viapt880 ultra has a agp 8x and a pci express 16 slot, uses ddr or ddr2. you could get a core 2 duo and keep your memory. in stock at scan.co.uk. be aware you can only use 2g of ram max as 2 motherboard slots are ddr only and 2 are for ddr2 only.

Or you could consider a motherboard bundle?
