I have recently found out that I have an illegal copy of windows xp on my system. Could I download the legal version from the website and pay for it or do I have to buy the disc?

Go here and follow the steps after you click Validate Windows. click here

XP cost £90+ last time I had to use it, I don't know if they'll send you XP these days, you might have to go for Vista.

Thanks, I called PC World to find out if they still sold XP and they dont. My pc is like 6 years old so I think it maybe too old to install Vista.

1. Does your machine have a sticker with a windows serial number on?

2. If so is it the same op system as you have installed i.e. XP Home ?

The sticker on the side says Windows xp home... I have Windows professional installed... Will I be able to reinstall windows home edition using this number on the side of the machine?

Borrow a disc as long as it is XP Home. Then just add the keycode on the side of your computer.
