Unwanted toolbars

  Billy Brewer 16:51 11 Nov 2003

I now have 2 unwanted toolbars on my browser. They are all search engines. If I click on view, toolbars, they appear as "pruurqujshj" this entry appears twice and if checked appears on browser twice. I downloaded adware 6.0 and spybot however it did not work. Any advice on how to get rid of them most welcome as they are driving me mad. Thanks.

Sounds like some sort of spyware/foistware in the form of a Browser Helper Object , try downloading BHODemon (free) from click here .

Read the instructions and try it out , i would suggest backing up the registry first ! safety first.

I did see your original thread and had a quick look for , unfortunatly i have been rather busy up till now , i also noticed about the same time someone else had a similar thread , i will try to find it and link it to this one.

I had a very similar problem which was resolved by visiting a spyware forum in the States, they specialise in the removal of such things. They require you to install HijackThis and post it's results, Jester 2k II has given you a link to it. You'll have to register to post, and bear in mind the time difference in the States. click here HTH TR
