Unusually low disk performance

  Gary1979 18:15 16 Feb 2004

Hi guys,

I have just done a system scan on my nice new PC and everything was fine, apart from the following message I received:

"Drive C has an uncached speed of 2.51 megabytes per second.

For comparison, systems with the same CPU and clock speed as this one have a speed of 10.07 MB/s."

Should I pay much attention to this message, and any ideas how I can improve my disk performance?

That sounds like something thrown up by PCPitstop. Empty temp files, do a defrag, scandisk, and ignore the message.

Agree with Diodorus Siculus.

PCPitStop gives me a similar message but my HDD works just fine.

Thanks Diodorus

Yeah, it was something that PC Pitstop said. I just thought it was strange that this message would come up when I have only just bought my PC, and I like to keep it in top condition anyway. My previous PC was about 6 years old and never had any problems like that.

My PC is 2 weeks old tomorrow and PCPitstop tells me the same.

Agree with VoG & Dio, ignore it
