Unsecured Network

  badgermansix 17:21 07 Dec 2010

Just purchased a Belkin Router and N wireless USB adapter.

The Router is wired to my desktop PC, with the adapter for my laptop in another room.

They seem to have installed o.k. after I closed the firewalls etc for a short while.

However, when I get online with the laptop, it is an unsecured network.

I have tried reinstalling the adapter with the same result

How can I resolve this please?

You will need to configure your router. The manual/quick start guide should have given some guidance on how to do this. Which model router?

This should help with the setting up of the security click here

In address bar type in click here This will bring up the Router settins - just ignore any password at this stage enter the settings page.
Then in left hand column left click security
then select WPA-PSK etc
Then create a password. Make sure you keep it safe somewhwere.
