Uninstall a wired network

  jessej 16:09 03 Aug 2006

At present I have two computers networked with a cable using a Zonet Ethernet Switch. I would like to remove this and replace it with a wireless router/modem, probably a Netgear. How do I remove the wired network? There is nothing in the instruction book with the Zonet Switch. Do I just simply unplug it? That seems much too easy.

Unplug the ethernet cables from the Zonet switch, plug into the wireless modem router.

If you do that before switching on the pcs, all will work when you do switch on. You can do it whilst they are running by opening a cmd window (Start - Run - cmd) and typing ipconfig /release [Enter] followed by ipconfig /renew [Enter] in the cmd window.
