uninstall windows live messenger!?how!?

im having problems with windows live messenger [wont sign in]previous thread suggests to uninstall.ive got windows vista/latest version of messenger/wireless laptop[suddenly occured yesterday with an error code.msn just sending automated replys which dont address the error code.]in my control panel-in programs and features- ive got-windows live upload tool and windows live essentials...but no sign of windows live messenger.where am i going wrong,or is it one of those?help!

Vista For Windows Vista

1. In the notification area of the taskbar, click the Messenger icon, and then click Exit.
2. On the taskbar, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
3. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
4. Double-click Windows Live Messenger.
5. Click Yes.

thanks.i used your first answer on "click here",which details windows live essentials,as windows live messenger isnt in programs[well,not in vista],it hides within live essentials!thanks
