uninstall windows

dear sir madam
after trying to install a norton firewall,
not knowing xp already had one my computer
froze,the only way i new to restart it was to reinstall windows again,that solved the problem
but now i have two versions of windows running.
could you please help me uninstall the second windows programme

This is a common problem, lots of people have fallen down the boot from CD trap.

Go to SYSTEM in the control panel, click on advanced, click the start up and recovery settings button, choose to edit startup options manually. You will see both boot options here, delete the second. This will not delete the installation but it will not try and boot from it as it doesn't see it.

The other option would be to re-install.
