Uninstall- Help!!

  [DELETED] 21:48 24 Apr 2006

Today i installed the NEC Mobile Suite program to enable my phone (NEC E540) to communicate with my computer via data cable. However it has caused problems and i want to uninstall it. When i attempt to do the uninstall, it comes up "Cannot delete CommsService.exe:Access is denied. The application may be in use"
Can anyone offer any help, so i can uninstall it?

I am running Windows XP SP2, 120GB free HD, 1GB RAM.

Thanks in advance,

I haven't tried to uninstall in safe mode. How do you do that? i've never tried that before.
You'll have to excuse me if i don't get back to you quickly as i am at work until 12.

Safe Mode

To get into safe mode keep tapping f8 on bootup, also you could try click here it has its own uninstaller.

You also could do a system restore to an earlier point.

Cheers, i will try it when i get home. I have ccleaner and it doesn't show in the program list, but it does in the add/remove programs section in the windows control panel.

Ok The reason you cannot uninstall your program is that it is in use, safe mode loads only the basics.

when in safe mode use add and remove or the program uninstaller.

I tried ccleaner again, and lo and behold it's appeared. Duly uninstalled, rebooted and uninstalled from the windows add/remove utility.
Now does anyone have any ideas as to why when i had it installed, it froze mt PC when itried to logoff?

Glad your sorted Les.

Problem could have been one of many things regarding the software, one option is a something amiss in the registry.

Thankyou for posting the result,it may help others in the future.
