Unexpected close down problem

  Sailo 16:36 21 Jun 2004

IBM ThinkPad R30 - when I log onto the net within 5 minutes I get the message Initiated by NT Authority (Export Version) - Windows32/Issass.exe has terminated unexpectly with status code 1073741819. I am using XP (Home) & have never had this problem before. Now I cannot access the net without this happening. I have scanned for all viruses & none are there. Help

you have the sasser virus by the sounds of the problem.

There is a scanning tool on that page if you stay on-line long enough.

You can download the tool from Microsoft from this link. click here

Print off the page from the first link to see more about the virus.

Thanks PSF - I downloaded the Microsoft programme& used it - stated no virus detected.
It then suggested I go for an ungrade. Can't do that as I can't get on the net. Thanks for your help.

you need an update click here

More info click here you might have to get someone to download it for you if you cannot download it. Once you have installed the fix run windows update to make sure everything else is up to date.

Start, Run, type in

shutdown -a

and click OK.
