Uncovering a password from Filezilla.

Does anyone know how I can retrieve a dotted password from Filezilla on Windows 7? I've forgotten it and my webhost needs it to sort a problem with my FTP access.

It's been awhile since I needed it but I used to use Eureka! feature on SIW program, you open SIW and click on Eureka! button on top toolbar and it opens a little window box, then you grab the magnifyglass icon out of the box and over the dotted password. I have the free Portable version on a Flash Drive.

Caution, as with all freeware remember to watch out for bundled 'extras' that you don't want.

If you use the Site Manager

C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\FileZilla

sitemanager.xml or recentservers.xml (for QuickConnect)

open either with a text editor to find your password inside.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
