Unable to sign on to Hotmail

Can anyone help ?
When I attempt to sign on to Hotmail, or any MSN passport site, I receive the following message.
"Browser has scripting disabled, press here to operate manually". On clicking the button the sign in page appears, enter the information, click ok and receive a blank screen. Been like this for 2 days now, is it me or them ?

your OS and browser details and ISP details might help the helpers, and dial up or BB?

and firewall and other detail:)

then await the helpers:)

Thank you end.
O/s windows 98 s/e.
Browser, Internet Explorer 6,which I have just got working again after two months of the error report tool closing the program down. This was resolved by the latest windows Feb update KB867282.
But I am left with the browser scripting problem on the MSN site.

In IE, Tools/Internet Options, Security tab, Custom Level button.

Check that the various scripting options are enabled, click Apply and click OK.
