Unable to select TWAIN source... What??

  Skulkin 16:40 26 Apr 2006

Hi all

Haven't used my scanner for a while.

When I try to scan it displays a message box titled CanoScan Toolbox with a big exclamation mark that says "Unable to select TWAIN source"

In my comp the properties says the scanners working properly and the drivers are the latest

I've looked through the site archive but not found my exact problem.

Anyone got any clues for me please??

Thanks in advance

I suspect something has changed since you last used it, even though I assume the hardware has not been changed in any detail?

If it used to run on this machine then somehow the USB port has "lost your scanner"

If you can find a Canon Twain driver delete it and start over again with the CD supplied with the scanner.
Install the driver without plugging in the scanner until either prompted or when driver installation is completed.

This is a harmless way to start, may not do the trick but ought at least to be tried.

Also try uninstalling the scanner in Device Manager and then rebooting.
