Unable to open links

Help please. For some reason I am unable to open some links in IE8. I click on them within a webpage and nothing happens. No error message or anything. I think there is probably something ticked or unticked in the tools - security section but no idea what. Any ideas?

1) Open up Internet Explorer.

2) Click tools.

3) Click Internet options.

4) Click the Advanced tab.

5) Click the Reste button.

6) Put a tick in "Delete personal settings" & click Reset.

7) Follow the rest of the prompts.

Once you have done reset.
You will have to go to your Add=ons and enable some of those again.
And into Spywareblaster if you have that and enable the protection again.

Sometimes if you have script disabled it will not let you open some Links.I don't suppose you have it disabled.
And have you tried a reboot to see if then works.

I think this is a little too drastic for me losing all passwords, history etc. I don't know which is the script box to see if it is disabled. I'm not computer literate enough to get this all back on track if I reset.

Ok maybe try running Malwarebytes free first and see if it finds any problems.Update it before you run it.

Well you have a-squared, so if you cant download malwarebytes then a-squared is excellent also, update and run that

Run Malwarebytes as I already had that. I updated it first. The same problem seems to exist.
