unable to load certain secure web pages

WIN XP Home with SP1. AOL Broadband.
I loaded Broadband reently and then Service pack 1. Recently I have been unable to download certain web pages. I read somewhere that Microsoft have a fix for it which gave the number. I failed to copy it down, but I have lost the reference and cannot find such a fix on the Microsoft website. Does anyone have any ideas please?
