Ubuntu problem loading

made the iso ubuntu disk loaded it in pc, started to boot from it, loaded various drivers but then an A:\ prompt appears which i havnt got a clue what to enter, any ideas please.

It's probably for you to create a boot disc, for if it does not boot. Did you have spare Hard Drive Partition to load to? or Free Space

It sounds like you are using the alternate desktop version instead of the live CD, did you download it from here? click here

It was on a magazine coverdisc, i thought it was a live cd version but maybe not

If it is a 'live cd' it should start up automatically start up a desktop for you. Sometimes (as the config is being done on the fly) it needs you to confirm an aspect of your hardware.

What is the message when it stops loading? What does it say?

No message as such, just a flashing A prompt

problem sorted, I hadnt burned the iso disc image properly, have now and works ok
