Can I install two systems on my computer ie.,
Windows 98 and Windows XP

Yes but, you should install W98 before XP.

Should add that I've had dual boot computers in the past and found that I only used one of the systems (the later one) so the other was effectively just wasting space.

Think carefully before you do it and unless you have a very good reason for having two, I suggest that you don't.

Yes. As Pops says, install Win 98 first. When you then go to install Win XP, you do it as a "new installation" (not "upgrade", even though it may be an upgrade CD that you've got). It will detect Win 98 and ask if you want to install Win XP as a dual-boot system.
