TV on your laptop

  timone 14:21 01 Sep 2004

I am looking to buy a laptop to take to university with me and have seen that you can get TV on them. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how this works and what other equipment you need, such as areial and broadband?

Help is desperatly needed.

You would need a USB tv card and an aerial for TV.

For broadband you would need a phone line (not an extension of a phone system).

Be careful carrying a laptop, someone might snatch it.

You would be best buying a small TV set and using the computer for its intended purpose.

So does the areial just plug into the laptop via the usb port then?

Got mine on now, its a MSI VOX and works like a dream. You will however need USB2 for it to work to speed, even then the voice sync can be out at times.

The TV card plugs into the USB, the aerial plugs into the TV card.

So if I buy a laptop with this enabled does it mean that the tv card will be internal on the laptop or external?
