Is AMD AthlonTM II dual-core 2GH M300 processor the same as AMD Athlon X2 II 2 GH processor? If not what is the difference and are they bottom of the rung processors or mid range?

different, AND mid range but adequate for most pc needs - unless you process numbers and such like or are an intensive gamer.

Hmmm! It's just that I have been looking at Packard Bell's laptop TJ74-RB-050UK and on some web sites it gives one processor description and another on a different site! So, I was hoping it would be the same. :(.

What is the difference?

The M300 is an Athlon II dual core mobile architecture processor. The desktop versions of Athlon II (which all use socket AM3) do not feature a 2GH processor in the lineup, so I think this may just be different ways of describing the same thing.
