Trusteer Rapport - Bank Security Software.

My bank has just started recommending this.

I've done a quick trawl around and found differing views.

However, my question is this, if I don't install it and I get some fraudulent transactions, can my bank claim that the responsibility is mine for not taking reasonable, i.e. their recommended, precautions?

I've just started using it and haven't had any problems. I'm still not sure how effective it is, but don't see any harm in using it. I don't see how the bank can claim that you are responsible for fraudulent transactions, provided that you can show that you have protected your computer with suitable security programs. IMHO It is your choice what you use, unless they make it a requirement to use Rapport in their T&C.

I dont think they can blame you totally, but if you have no other defence against fraud then I think they may well try to. I think it would be wise to install it if recommended, dont give them any opertunity to blame you.
