Trojan warning...

  madzad 16:40 12 May 2004

I have started getting pop messages, stating:

Trojan horse Downloader is found in file..

C:\system volume information\_restore etc etc...

I have run AVG, Pest Patrol andspy sweeper, as well as a few on line scans such as housecall and Panda. All have come back as nothing to report and clean.

How do I get rid of this pop up and is it malicious?

Many thanks

Hi Steve,

I have exactly the same problem, AVG doesn't find it when I run it.

For me the warning comes up if I leave the PC turned on and not used for a long period. (I never leave it connected to the web.

also worth getting adaware and spywareblaster & spybot search & destroy - a search on google will find them, after getting rid of the trojan with AVG, remember & turn system restore back on, install the other programs, update them & run them.

Have a great trouble free day

Turn off system restore, reboot computer run virus scan again, turn on system restore and create a restore point.
