Trojan Horse Start page 19J virus

  lindyloo4 16:17 07 May 2005

My son has got this virus on his system and can't remove it. Avg has picked it up but every time he reboots there is a warning that it is still there. I suggested he turned off system restore, which he did, but when he rebooted it was still there.

Any ideas please. He is running WinME.

He's downloaded and run Stinger but nothing was picked up.

He's tried downloading a² but says it's asking for user ID or such like before he can run it.

We're miles apart so this isn't helping when I can't see the screen. Any more ideas please.

He should have been sent his user ID by e-mail.

Thanks VoG™. Will pass info on, having to come off computer now but any more suggestions will still be appreciated.

Thank you

maybe a quick burst of using SYSTEM RESTORE to a known uninfected date / time may help..... although i am not 100% sure.... It worked on my friends PC... He is now no longer affected by this insidious little pest!

Good luck!

Having no luck at all. a² found one malware but not the right one apparently.

Music Lover, afraid System Restore was turned off earlier so all restore points have been lost.

Is there anything else he can do. Neither of us are very technically minded I'm afraid.
